A training simulator for live sound in Chapman's Salmon Recital Hall, built on real photos of the room. The goal is to teach you to see the system: notice a problem, trace the signal, fix it, and prove the fix works.
Walk the hall photo by photo, from the entrance to FOH, the stage racks and the storage closet. Tap equipment to zoom in, or use "Walk toβ¦" to get somewhere. The editing tools work too, but nothing is saved; Export JSON downloads your changes as a file.
Start walking
It's 4:50 and rehearsal starts at 5:00. Pick your job: the mics (batteries into 16 wireless mics, each checked at the X32) or the monitors (carry the wedges out, cable and power them, prove them with the Wii Shop theme). Then the line check: every singer, every wedge. Things go wrong: find out why, fix it, and prove it works.
Play
The recording and livestream rooms above the hall, BH208 (audio) and BH209 (video). Follow the four hanging mics through the splitter, the Zoom F8 and the Tio1608-D, over Dante to the 01V96, and on to the livestream and the main recording. A first draft: what isn't confirmed yet is marked, with the open questions listed.
See the signal flow
One real night: the Chapman Faculty Electroacoustic Showcase, nine pieces through the X32, the S32 and an SD8 daisy-chained off it, plus an 8-channel speaker ring for TUNNEL. Follow each piece's path, see where the SD8 died mid-show and how it was fixed, and what to do differently next time.
